1 mile horse race

eight of spades
Card Game: 1 mile horse race

1) This game is not played with the J, Q, K, A. Take those cards out of the deck. Shuffle the remaining deck of 36 cards.
2) The cards have to be face down so you can't see them.
3) Draw one card from the deck and see what it is. The card on top must always be selected next.
4) Each card drawn is how far your horse has traveled for every furlong the super horse (the leader which no player controls) has run. If you draw a 2, your horse has traveled 2 lengths. If you draw a 10, he traveled 10 lengths.
5) The other players then draw a card from the remaining 35 cards left. If more than 2 players, then the third player will go next and then fourth player. After all players have drawn a card, the first player then draws again for the second time (second furlong) and so on.
6) As the cards are drawn, they are put in a separate line face up for each player. The running total of each player can be totalled as the race is in progress.
7) Each player will draw 8 cards, 1 for each furlong. (There are 8 furlongs in 1 mile.)
8) The winner of the race is always the super horse which nobody controls. The player whose horse has travelled the most lengths after 8 turns (8 furlongs) will come in second behind the super horse.
9) The most your horse can travel is 76 lengths. This can be done if you draw four 10's and four 9's. The least he can travel is 20 lengths; four 2's and four 3's.

Players - (2 - 4 players) One player draws a card, then the next player draws a card from the remaining 35 cards left. If more than 2 players, then the third player will go next and then fourth player. After all players have drawn a card, the first player then draws again for the second time (second furlong) and so on until each player draws 8 cards for 8 furlongs.

Ties - The super horse always wins the race, so you can't finish the race in first place. The best you can run is for second place. There are no tiebreakers for second. If the total is the same for 2 or more players, the race is a dead heat for second place (both or more players come in second behind the super horse).

Other Sports - More sport card games are baseball, basketball, boxing, drag racing, and golf.
